WHAT IS PODIATRY & WHEN SHOULD I SEE A PODIATRIST?
Podiatry (also known as chiropody) is the diagnosis and treatment by podiatrists of diseases and disorders of the feet.
Podiatrists are highly skilled health professionals who have been trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. They also prevent and correct deformity, keep people mobile and active, relieve pain and treat infections.
If your feet hurt, something is wrong. In this case, we recommend that you visit a podiatrist who will advise you on the best course of treatment. You can also prevent foot problems before they occur by visiting a local podiatrist for advice on how to keep your feet healthy and in top condition.

APPOINTMENTS
An initial assessment lasts approximately 30 minutes. Your reason for making the appointment will be discussed, assessed and treated. Advice for prevention, self-treatment and footwear may be discussed. As well, feel free to ask questions.
Helpful tips: Bring a few pairs of the footwear you wear most often. Please bring a list of medications you take, including cream and natural remedies; they can affect your skin and nails.
A follow-up appointment will be established during the initial appointment. This can be scheduled or left to your discretion to return when you feel the need to come back. During this appointment, the management plan from the initial appointment will be re-assessed and adjusted accordingly. Any new issues that have come up will also be addressed.
